This year’s Solidarity Week was coordinated by Christian Tchangongom,HR Director at Pullman Douala Rabingha and supported by all management and staff. Commenting on this program Christian Tchangongom stated that “Giving back to the community is something we take quite seriously here at Pullman Douala Rabingha. Being in the Hospitality industry requires us to be in contact with people 24/7 and we take pride in connecting with people who are truly disadvantaged as well as with people who have access to our services.” Solidarity week 2017 was a joint effort ofthe staff at Pullman Douala Rabingha and the management team, giving everyone the joy of being involved in the process, thus making it a huge success.

From Monday the 4th of December, internal activities kicked off with the request for donations in kind or in cash. Every department had a donation box were cash contributions were made and recorded by department heads. In the case of donation in kind, such as used or unwanted gifts, every item contributed was evaluated, recorded and saved for tracking. After a week of collection, a grand visit was made onSaturdaythe 9thof December to two orphanages, Canaan inBonaberithe Littoral region of Cameroon and St Jean Deido found in the Douala, littoral region as well.

It was with a sense of pride that both members of management and staff visited these orphanages not only to provide them with the basic needs bought with cash collected and donateditems from well wishers throughout the Solidarity Week, but also to spend some time with them.

The day’s visit to bother charities was full of engaging activities such as discussion on issues affecting the orphanages, encouraging words to the orphanage staffand other entertaining activities selfies photo sessions and others.

Fun moment it really was for the Pullman team and all orphans at both St Jean Deido and Canaan Bonaberi.

Its true you can’t help everyone every time but you can sure help someone sometimes. Reason why giving back to the community is a duty for the entire Accor group.
